We invite you to join us in Santa Barbara, California on the campus of Westmont College, on Saturday, January 25 for the 2014 edition of the World’s Greatest Track & Field Clinic. Our uniquely formatted day will feature Olympic Gold Medalists Allyson Felix and Dawn Harper-Nelson accompanied by their legendary Coach, Bob Kersee.

For the Coaches

Out of the classroom and on to the track, this exclusive clinic will allow coaches the opportunity to shadow the world’s greatest sprints/hurdles group as they break down the components of their training program. Following the sessions, coaches will be guided through the concepts and methodology of Coach Kersee’s training philosophy. Attending coaches will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain invaluable insights from the world’s most decorated sprints/hurdles coach.

For the Athletes

Athletes in all event areas will capitalize from this unforgettable clinic, which will feature multiple NCAA, NAIA, Post Collegiate and NJCAA coaches from the state of California. In addition to training, athletes will have the opportunity to meet college coaches and learn about the college recruitment process. Athletes will share in an exciting day that not only instructs in track & field techniques, but also provides a special forum to learn from the world’s greatest track & field athletes themselves.

Our Elite Speakers Panel will give athletes and coaches the chance to ask questions to the United States brightest Track & Field Stars and US Olympic Hopefuls for Rio 2016.

Allyson Felix

One of the most decorated sprinters in American history, Allyson Felix’s accomplishments span a career dating back to her years as a prep athlete at LA Baptist High School. Felix became the youngest sprinter ever to win gold at the 2005 World Championships. The accolades of Allyson Felix’s athletic career cross well over a decade as she has enjoyed success at every level of competition. Felix ran away from her opposition in the 2012 London Olympic Games to win Gold in the 200 meters. Running a blistering leg on the world record setting 4×100 relay, Felix was part of a special group of Americans that shocked the world in London defeating a high-powered Jamaican team. A jaw dropping split in the 4×400 meters also garnered a Gold medal in an Olympic Games that saw Felix capture a Gold medal in three Olympic events. For all of her accomplishments, Allyson Felix has a tremendous reputation as one of the world’s greatest sportswomen.

Dawn Harper-Nelson

Dawn Harper-Nelson exploded into the national spotlight as a prep athlete when she broke the Illinois State Record in the 100 hurdles as a freshman. An athlete with tremendous determination and tenacity, Harper-Nelson overcame an early season injury in 2008 to capture the Gold Medal at the Beijing Olympic Games. She has won or medaled in numerous World Championships and Olympic competition throughout her career. Harper-Nelson has become known for her exceptional ability to perform her best on the biggest stages of competition.

2010 Track and Field - USA Indoor Championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center - Day 2Coach Bob Kersee

There are few coaches in history who have made an indelible mark in virtually every sprint, hurdle and jumping event. Kersee has guided the careers of many of the sports most recognizable athletes for over 30 years. Dating back to his time at Cal State Northridge, Kersee has made an impact throughout the entirety of his professional coaching career. Kersee’s coaching resume is diverse in scope of event and sport as it is impressive.

Widely regarded as one of the world’s premier track and field coaches, Kersee was honored as the 2005 USATF Nike United States Coach of the Year after two of his athletes won gold at the World Championships in Helsinki, Finland – Michelle Perry (100mH) and Allyson Felix (200m). Coach Kersee is the only coach in history to guide two separate athletes to three Gold Medals in one Olympics.
